Firstly: Vision of the Automotive Engineering Department
The vision of the Automotive Engineering Department in the Mechanical Engineering Department is to make the department one of the most distinguished engineering branches not only at the level of the University of Technology but also at the level of Iraqi universities. This will be achieved through developing the skills of faculty members, updating laboratories with devices and technologies to meet scientific research needs, and periodically updating study plans and curricula to meet the needs of the job market, especially in the field of modern and electric car manufacturing and maintenance. Additionally, it involves preparing students of the department to work in state institutions and private companies in the automotive industry.
Secondly: Mission of the Automotive Engineering Department
The mission of the department is to:
- Graduate mechanical engineers specialized in automotive mechanics capable of keeping up with the rapid technological developments in the automotive field and contributing to the innovation process.
- Periodically update the study plans and curricula of the department to ensure meeting the needs of the job market.
- Enhance scientific research in areas such as sustainable energies and clean energy, such as hybrid and electric cars.
- Provide interactive workshops and modern laboratories to help students acquire technical skills and critical thinking.
- Emphasize quality and academic accreditation according to the Bologna Process to achieve employers' satisfaction with the graduates of the department.
Thirdly: Objectives of the Automotive Engineering Department
The objectives of the Automotive Engineering program are an extension of the objectives of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Technology in conveying its scientific message to the community. The strategic objectives of the department are:
- Educating graduates to become creative and productive engineers who can contribute to building society.
- Graduating engineers with good knowledge to succeed in postgraduate studies in mechanical engineering.
- Providing graduates with the required skills in the job market to obtain employment opportunities.
- Developing the efficiency of faculty members for local and international scientific communication.
